Recently about 100 students were recognized for their Summer Reading efforts. Students were rewarded with ice cream sundaes, certificates and tickets to a New Milford High School football game. The top three students received special recognition. Sarah Murch read 30 books and Tara Levine read 35 books and each received a gift card to Barnes and Noble. The top reader, Karina Dsouza, read 45 books and received a Kindle donated by Mrs. Perro, principal. The Language Arts teachers helped serve the ice cream and pass out the certificates. Mrs. Perro is very proud of their efforts and with the language arts department at DEOMS for fostering a love of reading through a school-wide reading incentive program.
