Did Someone Help You During/After the Storm? Say Thank You on Patch

Recognize them for their generosity and care here on Patch.

Did someone let you crash on their couch? Cook you a warm meal? Take care of your dog? Shovel you out? Let you watch your favorite TV show while your cable was out? Give you a ride? Organize a neighborhood Halloween party so the kids didn't have to dodge dangerous fallen limbs and downed wires?

Recognize the people that helped you after the Oct. 29 snow storm that knocked out power to more than 3000 New Milford residences for several days.

In my neighborhood moms organized a "trunk or treat" gathering. Moms loaded their trunks with goodie bags and let the kids go from car to car to collect their treats not only to keep them safe, but because many people without power were not home to hand out treats.

I have heard stories of neighbors lending a hand to help clear property of fallen limbs, friends welcoming others into their homes and families cooking for people who had lost power and needed a hot meal.

Who helped you during the storm? While you probably already thanked them for their hospitality or help already, give them that extra recognition by publically recognizing them and their good deed on New Milford Patch!
