From nail-biting elections to major arrests, New Milford had a busy week

New Milford may be a small town, but it was anything but sleepy this week. In case you may have missed something, we've put together a "Week in Review" so you can catch up on all of your local news.

Solid police work led to the arrest of the man who impersonated a cop and assaulted a group of young boys on Sept. 29. The investigation, led by Det. Brian Long, came to a conclusion when Police Officer Derrek Mattessich spotted the car used in the assault. Click to read the full story.

On Tuesday, Nov. 8, the New Milford Police, in conjunction with the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit, arrested New Milford resident Mharck Roxas. Roxas, 24, a nurse's assistant at Holy Name Hospital and Medical Center, was arrested on sexual assault charges for allegedly engaging in inappropriate sexual conduct with an underaged girl. On Wednesday, Nov. 9,  the New Milford Police responded to a caller who said  two men were carrying firearms in a driveway on New Bridge Road. After heavily armed police descended upon the residence it was discovered that the firearms were actually paintball guns. Three minors were taken into custody and released to their parents.
