The median Berkeley Heights teacher's salary ranks among the highest in New jersey, new data from the state shows.

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ — The average Berkeley Heights teacher makes among the most money annually in New Jersey, new data from the state shows.

The state has released information that shows how much your school district, special services district, vocational district and charter school will pay teachers in the 2019-20 school year.

Patch put together a list of the median salaries set before the 2019-20 school year, from highest to lowest.

The median salary for Berkeley Heights teachers is $73,948, 123rd highest in the state out of 649 districts, a 2.9 percent decrease over last year.

New Providence teachers have a median salary of $70,074, a 1.15 percent decrease from last year, but still higher than the statewide median salary.

Overall, 232 school districts make more than the state median of $68,985, a 1.6 percent increase over last year. And it's not just the big towns or the regional districts that pay the most: Indeed, Millburn is a great place to get a teaching job, where the median salary is $92,784. So is Brigantine, which has a median salary of $93,649.
