Delicious Heights Named Third Best Chili in Cook Off
Local restaurants claimed first, second and third place in the Men of Charity's 9th Annual Chili and Chowder Cook Off in Basking Ridge.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The chili and chowder has been tasted and the results are in as local restaurants and chefs competed in the Men of Charity's 9th Annual Chili and Chowder at St James School in Basking Ridge on Jan. 21.
Event goers were able to sample a wide array of chilies and chowders and vote for their favorites. Proceeds from the event benefited the works of charity both inside and outside the Parish Community performed by the Men of Charity.
Chili Winners:

- 1st place: Matt Pinto: Cioppino Chili
- 2nd place: Soup Shoppe, 665 Martinsville Rd, Basking Ridge: green and white bean chili
- 3rd place: Delicious Heights, 428 Springfield Ave, Berkeley Heights: Traditional Texas chili with corn bread, croutons, diced onions, sour cream and cheese
Chowder Winners:
- 1st place: Priscilla's Pantry, 534 Lyons Rd, Basking Ridge: Feast of the Seven Fishes Chowder
- 2nd place: Mockingbird Cafe, 60 S Finley Ave, Basking Ridge: Corn Chowder with Andouille Sausage and Chicken
- 3rd place (tie): Dan Heron: Shrimp with Corn Chowder
- 3rd place (tie): Washington House, 55 S Finley Ave, Basking Ridge: Clam Chowder
