The New Providence Farmer’s Market is open this afternoon despite a threat of thunderstorms.
Sponsored by the New Providence Business Community, the market is open every Wednesday, noon to 6 p.m., rain or shine, through October at its new location in the Presbyterian Church at New Providence parking lot on Springfield Avenue.
In past years, the market was set up in the New Providence Municipal Center parking lot.
This weekly market is a Jersey Fresh market, according to the New Providence Business and Professional Association website, so all produce is grown in New Jersey. Community members can stop by for fresh vegetables and fruit, fresh mozzarella, artisan breads, fruit pies, cookies, crab cakes, gourmet nuts, dried fruits, prepared gourmet Italian meals, honey and flowers.
