1. The New Providence Memorial Library, Borough Offices and District Schools are starting the Holiday early by closing all facilities at 1 p.m. today. The Library will reopen this Saturday.
2. With Thanksgiving upon us, Patch will be providing you with last minute recipes, a feature on what local residents are thankful for, a list of restaurants open on Thanksgiving (just incase you burn your Turkey!) and a feature on New Providence, formally known as Turkey, NJ. 4. Happy Thanksgiving Eve! Be careful driving if you are out and about tonight, as it is traditionally a big party night. New Jersey State Police will have strict enforcement beginning at 6 p.m. with several checkpoints throughout the state. Patch asks that you please remember to take a moment today, tomorrow and every day to give thanks! Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
5. Remember that Black Friday is right around the corner as well! The Downtown Improvement District will host the Annual Christmas Walk on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. along South Street and Springfield Avenue. Check Patch on Thursday for a full preview of activities!
