Here's How Berkeley Heights Students Did On Standardized Tests

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ — The results are in! Check to see how the Berkeley Heights Public School District did on the renamed versions of the controversial PARCC exam, the New Jersey Student Learning Assessments.

Here are the results for the Berkeley Heights Public School District, divided into test category, grade level, percentage of students meeting expectations, and their test scores:

Algebra I

State rank: 155th, 64.2 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 761

Geometry

State rank: 59th, 55.4 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 748

Algebra II

State rank: 150th, 55.3 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 755

3rd grade math

State rank: 22nd, 88.5 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 783

4th grade math

State rank: 17th, 85.4 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 776

5th grade math

State rank: 38th, 78.7 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 773

6th grade math

State rank: 162nd, 54.1 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 751

7th grade math

State rank: 38th, 75.5 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 761

The New Jersey Student Learning Assessment uses the same computer-based platform used for PARCC and draws on the same bank of test questions. Indeed, the NJSLA results in English and math are comparable to the previous years' PARCC results.

However, the biggest difference between this assessment and PARCC is that it's now approximately 25 percent shorter and the number of questions has been reduced.
