Jan 2 @ 2:00PM - Free Foreign Film: Operation Finale (Adults - Rated PG-13)
Fifteen years after the end of World War II, a team of top-secret Israeli agents travels to Argentina to track down Adolf Eichmann, the Nazi officer who masterminded the transportation logistics that brought millions of innocent Jews to their deaths in concentration camps. Hoping to sneak him out of the country to stand trial, agent Peter Malkin soon finds himself playing a deadly game of cat and mouse with the notorious war criminal. (In French, German and Spanish with English subtitles)

*Jan 6 @ 1:30 - 3: PM - 10 Steps to Create a Short Film Workshop (Teens Grades 7-12)
Award-winning writer and director, Chris Messineo from NJ Film School, will come to present a workshop on how to create a quality short film. Come learn from our own New Providence local who has been teaching kids, teens and adults the craft of independent filmmaking for years. Using a simple ten-step approach, you can begin creating your own films with friends and family without breaking the bank. Using examples and anecdotes, this FREE workshop is perfect for first-time filmmakers or those looking to up their game. Presentation will last one hour and there will be a 30 minute Q & A afterwards.

Jan 8 @ 2 PM - Free Movie: BlacKKKlansman (Adults - Rated R)
From Spike Lee comes the incredible true story of an American hero. It’s the early 1970’s and Ron Stallworth (John David Washington) is the first African-American detective to serve in the Colorado Springs Police Department. Determined to make a name for himself, Stallworth bravely sets out on a dangerous mission: to infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan.

You’ve heard of Facebook, but have you heard of BookFace? We’ll set out a number of books that feature faces in the cover art. Teens can pose behind the books to become their very own BookFaces! We’ll take photos and share via print display in the library. Who can make the most convincing BookFace? Come and find out! For teens in grades 7-12.
Jan 14 @ 3:30 PM - ShopRite Nutrition for Little Ones (Kids Ages 5-7)
Michelle Sweeney, retail dietitian from ShopRite of Stirling, will be at the library to give a nutrition lesson! Join us for some fun activities and a healthy snack assembly. Since food samples will be given, registration is required. For children ages 5-7.

Anyone with an interest in baseball is welcome to come and talk about your favorite team, players or just listen.

Puzzle is a closely-observed portrait of Agnes, who has reached her early 40’s without ever venturing far from home, family or the tight-knit immigrant community in which she was raised. Jan 15 @ 7 PM - Weight Loss: a State of Mind (Adults)
Board-certified internist Dr. Kavita Kewalramani of K Primary Care in New Providence will discuss how weight loss depends on the right mindset. Learn about the phrases of change and what it takes to get your mind ready to lose weight.
Jan 16 @ 3:30-4:30 PM - Wii Super Smash Bros. Tournament! (Teens Grades 7-12)
The library is throwing it back a few years to offer interactive video game days on the Wii. This time, we will have a Wii Super Smash Bros. Tournament with bracket-style elimination to decide the SSB champion! Come take a break from the cold to play with friends for an hour on the Wii.

Jan 18 @ 3:30 PM - My Gym New Providence (Kids Ages 0-8)
Our My Gym teachers will lead a 30 minute age-appropriate fitness and movement class with your kids. Activities will include basic tumbling, games, relays, puppet shows, bubbles, and more! Our desire is to promote health and fitness awareness within our community in a super fun way! For infants-8 years. Children must have a signed waiver. Registration is recommended. Register and pick up a waiver at the Children’s desk.

Jan 19 @ 1-3 PM - Team AIRO Rubik’s Cube Coding Program (2nd Grade and older)
Local teens from Team AIRO Jr. will teach basic coding logic using Rubik’s Cube puzzle games. Open to students 2nd grade and older to come learn the building blocks of coding. Students will learn the algorithm to solve the Rubik’s Cube every time, plus some tips and tricks to impress friends. *Registration required.

Come in from the cold and take a break from studying to play board games with friends. We’ll have a selection of fun games for solo play, pairs and larger groups. If you have a favorite, feel free to bring your own, too. Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to join us for an hour of old-school board game fun!
