Mom, Wife, New Providence Salon Owner Named 'Mompreneur'

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — A mother, wife and New Providence business owner has been named NJ Mompreneur by Mom.com.

Heather Hoffman of Union, is the owner of Hair Salon Body & Soul in New Providence and is “excited” about being given the honor.

“It was a huge surprise,” Hoffman told Patch. “It is nice to know that a small business can achieve this award and be recognized. I thought it was a really big deal.”

The award is given by NJMOM to New Jersey's ambitious and talented women who juggle family, career, and home, according to Mom.com.

Hoffman credits her success with the New Providence community. She has been in business for 35 years and was originally located in Summit. She moved to New Providence two year ago to double her business size and is delighted.

“New Providence changed my life,” Hoffman said. “Being here is why I was nominated. The town has been great in letting me be able to do all of this.”

Hoffman is not only a mom, wife and business owner, but she also started a youth program in town to teach teens how to build their confidence and self esteem.

She also started a program, called Reborn, where she will pamper a deserving local with a spa day at her salon. Those community members are nominated to the salon for the special treat.

“I want to give back to the community,” Hoffman said. “Reborn gives back to the community but makes people feel good about themselves. It is such a special treat for them. Some say it’s life changing.”
