Mountainside Resident Awarded 'Trooper of the Year' Trophy

Maier, 13, accumulated the most points during the 2011 season at Watchung Stable.

Thirteen-year-old Courtney Maier, of Mountainside, was awarded the “Trooper of the Year” trophy and medal for accumulating the most points during the 2011 Troop season at Watchung Stable in Mountainside.

Courtney, who has been riding for four years, received her trophy from stable manager Rachel Bechtold during Watchung Stable’s 79thAnnual Spring Troop Horse Show during the Memorial Day weekend.

Watchung Stable, a facility of the Union County Department of Parks and Community Renewal, is administered by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
