New Providence Students Win Awards in Forensics Contest
Students from the Academy of Our Lady of Peace received high marks in the Union Catholic Forensics Meet.

The Forensics Team of the Academy of Our Lady of Peace School (AOLP) showed they were made of the right stuff.
The team from the New Providence school competed in the Union Catholic Forensics Meet, an annual public speaking competition, on May 20.
Seventeen schools and over 250 students competed in the categories of Declamation, Reading, Drama, Humor and Duos, presenting their chosen selections to a host of judges.

After two preliminary rounds, AOLP 7th graders Angela Bonetti (Drama) and Chiara Schwartz (Reading) and 8th graders Alyssa Chin (Drama), Gianna Doria (Drama) and James Robertson (Humor) moved on to the semi-final round which included the top 12 competitors in each category.
After that competition, both Gianna Doria and James Robertson advanced to the final round placing fourth overall in Drama and fifth overall in Humor, respectively. Overall, the Academy team placed sixth.
