Possible Luring Of Boy, 12, Reported In New Providence: Police
The boy was asked by the driver of a black sedan that if he needed a ride he could get into the car, police said.
NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — The possible luring of a 12-year-old boy Friday afternoon was reported in New Providence, police said.
Police went to the 800 block of Springfield Avenue at about 3:40 p.m. when they received a report about the incident.
The boy was asked by the driver of a four-door sedan that if he needed a ride home he could get into the car, police said. The boy was on the phone with his parents when it happened and ran away. The vehicle then headed east on Springfield Avenue.

The boy said the driver was a clean-shaven Hispanic man with short hair in his 30s, police said.
Authorities are investigating the incident and reviewing video footage, police said.
