Pre-orders for iPhone 5 Begin at New Providence RadioShack This Friday
Community members can visit the store on Friday, Sept. 14 at 8 a.m. and be one step closer to owning the latest Apple gadget.
The release of the new iPhone 5 has many Apple enthusiasts gunning to pre-order the new gadget, complete with a larger screen, a better battery life, and a thinner, lighter frame, among other features.
Apple fans living in the New Providence area are in luck, as the will be taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5 at 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14 on a first-come, first-serve basis.
“[This is] huge news for Apple fans. The iPhone 5 is a big deal. People have been waiting for it,” said Michael Boyle, the store manager. “If [customers] trade in their old iPhones, they are guaranteed a minimum of $100 for their iPhone 4 and $200 for their iPhone 4s.”

Boyle said the phones are available for all cell phone carriers, retailing at $199 for a new activation or an upgrade. However, an unactivated phone is retailing for $699.99.
Community members can pre-order the phone by making a $50 deposit, Boyle said. The new phones should arrive at the store by Sept. 21. Full payment would be due at the time of pick-up and activation for the iPhone 5 will take about an hour.

Boyle said accessories will be available on Wednesday as well, as some older Apple accessories will no longer be compatible with the iPhone 5.
