'A Real Triple Threat': New Providence-Berkeley Heights Star Student
We all know students who excel in academics or volunteer service. Here's one local resident who is having an impact in New Providence.

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Jhilmil Bhawnani who nominated their son Karum of New Providence-Berkeley Heights.

How do you know the star local student?
Son
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Karum is a rising ninth grader doing it all! Not only is he on the honor roll in school, he also shines on stage! A real triple threat, Karum is passionate about acting, singing and dancing and is always working on the next community theatre musical show. He was recently cast in the lead role of Shrek in Pebble Players Shrek Jr, and played the role of Roger in Grease! Nothing gives him more joy than to entertain audiences and see their faces light up with his performance. When he's not on stage, he also brings joy singing at local street fairs and winter walks, representing Elefante Music & School for the Performing Arts. Karum is a part of the Holiday Carolers group with Performing Arts 5678 as they bring wonderfully choreographed shows to your doorstep every holiday season.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Karum!
