St Andrew's offers a wonder-ful retelling of the Christmas story

Discover the magic of Christmas Eve by experiencing the story of Jesus' birth in St Andrew's Church's unique way.

Join the folks at St Andrew’s Episcopal Church on Christmas Eve for a child-friendly telling of the Christmas story, recreated with beautiful handmade costumes and live animals! For almost 50 years, the children of St. Andrew’s Church and Preschool with the local community have participated in this popular annual event.

At 4pm on Christmas Eve the Church sanctuary becomes the setting for the well-known story of the Savior’s birth, where a cast and crew of children and youth assistants work hard to recreate this magical story. Two young narrators recount the story of Jesus’ birth, while children act it out in full costume. The addition of local farm animals lends a dash of realism as sheep, lambs, miniature goats and/or rabbits may join the cast each year. Interspersed throughout the pageant are traditional Christmas carols, sung by all in attendance. Building on the child-friendly atmosphere, a Holy Eucharist is offered for any and all interested attendees. Plan to join the actors in the Parish Hall after the performance to enjoy holiday treats and healthy snacks. The program is directed by Carolyn McGhee and Lisa Berry, who faithfully guide the group on their Christmas Narrative journey to Bethlehem. It is a wonder filled experience for children of all ages!

Want a more “grown up” Christmas Eve experience? Plan to join the St Andrew’s parish later that evening for a meaningful and joyous Christmas Eve service, beginning at 10:00PM (arrive early for festive Carol singing@9:30PM). All are welcome at St Andrew’s Church --all the time and especially at Christmas-time
