Trailside Sets Fall Hay Ride, Campfire Schedule

Get tickets starting Sept. 3 for fall festivities at the nature center in Mountainside.

The Trailside Nature & Science Center in Mountainside invites residents to enjoy hay rides and fun around a campfire this fall.

Tickets go on sale Sept. 3 for the Trailside activities, sponsored by the Union County Board of Freeholders, including folk songs around a campfire, hay rides, hot chocolate and marshmallows over a fire.

Hay ride tickets will not be sold on-site. They are available in advance from noon to 5 p.m. at the Trailside center, 452 New Providence Road, Mountainside; from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Union County Administration Building, 10 Elizabethtown Plaza, Elizabeth; and at the Colleen Fraser Building, 300 N. Ave. East, Westfield.

Tickets are $5 for Union County residents and $10 for out-of-county residents. 

Rides begin at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 20; Oct. 4, 11 and 18; and 3:30 p.m. Oct. 13.
