Union County College Welcomes Berkeley Heights Reverend

Reverend and doctor Francis A. Hubbard​​ is one of the Union County College Board's new trustees.

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ — Six new community members were elected as new trustees to the board of the Union County College, including Berkeley Heights's reverend and doctor Francis A. Hubbard.

The retired Episcopal priest serves as an occasional Sunday substitute.

During his career, he led a congregation that tripled in size and became more diverse, according to a statement by Union County College.

He also established regional church policies to increase support for the churches and clergy in economically poor areas.

“With their help, we will continue to expand the Foundation’s mission in the community and share the opportunities available to students at Union County College,” said Doug Rouse, Foundation Executive Director.

These are the six new members of the Unions County College Board trustees:

  • Rev. Dr. Selina D. Carter, of Plainfield
  • Rev. Dr. Francis A. Hubbard, of Berkeley Heights
  • Ken Orchard, of Little Silver
  • Colleen Shea, of Cranford, the Vice President of Sales for Pen Company of America in Garwood.
  • Steven St. Pierre Fernandez, of Rahway
  • Darielle Walsh, of Westfield
