Weather Update: Heatwave Heads To New Providence-Berkeley Heights This Week

After a waterlogged start to the month of June, New Providence-Berkeley Heights residents can expect to see temperatures touching 90 degrees toward the end of this week.

Today’s weather will be sunny with a high near 87 degrees and a low temperature around 66 tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

Thursday there will be a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Weather forecasters are calling for mostly sunny conditions, with a high near 91. Temperatures will cool down Thursday night to about 69.

Temperatures are expected to come close to 90 on Friday, as well. The high on Friday is expected to be 88 degrees, according to the NWS. Temperatures are expected to drop down around 68 again Friday night.

• Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
• Saturday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
• Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 81.
