Bergen County Man Charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office says the man allegedly engaged in inappropriate sexual activity with an 11-year-old girl.

Police say a computer technician from Bergen County was arrested Tuesday for allegedly engaging in inapprorpiate sexual activity with a minor.

Frank O. Garcia, 46, of Paramus, was arrested after his alleged victim - now 14-years-old - told her mother Garcia had engaged in the inappropriate sexual activity with her when she was 11, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.

The victim’s mother immediately contacted the Paramus Police Department, who then notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit. The victim was interviewed at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, where she “provided specific details regarding what had occurred with” Garcia, which resulted in his arrest, Molinelli said.

Garcia was charged with one count each of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Bail was set at $300,000 with no ten percent option, no contact with the victim and the surrender of his passport as a condition of bail. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
