Kitten Rescued From Rt. 3 Up For Adoption In Oakland
The kitten, named Sebastian, was bleeding from his mouth.

OAKLAND, NJ — A kitten found on Route 3 recently is available for adoption in Oakland.
The Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge is caring for the animal after good Samaritans stopped and rescued the kitten, who was named Sebastian, from Route 3 westbound, said Megan Brinster, the refuge's executive director. The cat was spotted in the median of a bridge overpass.
The couple did not know what to do, so they called the refuge, who took Sebastian in and rushed him to an animal hospital. He was bleeding from his mouth, Brinster said.

"Quick thinking and action saved a life this past weekend, but how did this beautiful kitten end up in the median of an overpass on a busy highway?" Brinster said. "The finders surmised, based on the location, that the kitten may have survived being tossed from a car into the river by getting stuck on the divider."
Anyone with information about Sebastian, or for information about adopting him, contact the refuge at 201-337-5180 or email adoptlove@rbari.org.
