Oakland Cop Catches Fugitive During Traffic Stop: PD

The man was wanted Philadelphia for a firearms and shooting offensive.

OAKLAND, NJ — A Pennsylvania man wanted on a shooting offense was arrested during an Oakland traffic stop Saturday, police announced.

Officer Bryan Rowin was on patrol conducted a motor vehicle stop on Skyline Drive, said Detective Lt. Christian Eldridge.

The traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a 40-year-old Philadelphia man who had a warrant out for his arrest on a firearms and shooting offense, Eldridge said.

The man, who was not identified, was turned over to the Bergen County Sheriff's Department and taken to the Bergen County Jail to await extradition to Pennsylvania, Eldridge said.

The man was also issued a summons for driving with a suspended license. Sgt. Bart Pagerie was the arresting officer.
