Oakland Mother's Club Cancels 'Comedy Night' Due to Death of Oakland Youth

Out of respect for the unexpected death of 14-year-old Michael Altana the Oakland Mother's Club is looking to reschedule their 'Comedy Night for Cancer.'

The Mother’s Club of Oakland Presents “Comedy Night for Cancer,” was scheduled for Friday, May 3 at the American Legion in Oakland. This event has been postponed due to the unexpected death of Michael Altana. The event is expected to be rescheduled but no date has been announced.

The Mother’s Club of Oakland is a non-profit organization founded to benefit the youth of Oakland by supporting recreational and community programs. The organization was founded in 1957.

The comedy show will begin at 8 p.m. and will feature two comedians from the Omni Pop Talent Group. Dinner and a comedy show will only cost you $45 and proceeds will go to benefit lives impacted by cancer.

"People can order tickets up to the event. All our proceeds go to the Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and to families in our community that have been affected by cancer," said Leegwater.
