Oakland Resident Chosen for Spot on 'The Voice'
Jacqui Sandell has earned a spot on Team Blake entering the "battle rounds" portion of the competition.
Oakland resident Jacqui Sandell earned a spot on Team Blake on the popular TV show The Voice on the final night of auditions.
Sandell, who is categorized as a rock, blues and R&B singer, performed Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” and quickly caught the attention of judges Usher and Blake Shelton. Sandell then had her choice of joining Team Usher or Team Blake and she chose a spot on Team Blake to enter the next phase of the competition.
The show resumes Monday, April 15 at 8 p.m. on NBC with the “battle rounds.” Blake Shelton will place Sandell against another member of his team where they will both sing a duet. After the battle, Shelton will choose which of his singers will advance, while another coach could steal the losing artist.
