Woman Killed In Wrong-Way Oakland Crash: Police
The vehicle the woman was driving crossed over the double yellow line onto the wrong side of Skyline Drive, police said.
OAKLAND, NJ — A woman was killed in a two-vehicle, wrong-way crash on Skyline Drive Tuesday morning, police said.
Police determined that a 24-year-old woman from Warwick, New York was driving a 2001 Toyota Corolla near the .5-mile marker when she crossed over the double yellow line into the oncoming lane of traffic and collided with a 2011 Volkswagon Routan, said Detective Lt. Christian Eldridge.
Authorities tried rescuing the woman, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, Eldridge said.

The driver of the Volkswagon, a 42-year-old man from Springfield, Massachusetts and four passengers were taken to a local hospital with "moderate" injuries that were not life-threatening, Eldridge said.
The identities of the people involved in the crash were not released pending notification of the next of kin, Eldridge said. No charges were filed.

The Oakland, Ringwood, Pompton Lakes, and Wyckoff first aid squads, the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department, and paramedics from Chilton Medical Center responded to the crash, the lieutenant said.
Authorities were investigating the crash as of press time.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit and members of the Bergen County Sheriff's Department assisted police with the investigation.
