2 Caught Dealing Crack, Pills In Cape May County: Prosecutor

Two Lower Township residents are accused of dealing drugs, authorities said.

LOWER TWP., NJ — A duo from Lower Township is accused of dealing crack cocaine and prescription pills, the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office said.

Kevin Powell, 49, and Elizabeth Singh, 47, both residents of the North Cape May section of Lower Township, were charged following an investigation, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Chief Kevin Lewis of the Lower Township Police Department said.

The investigation concluded on Jan. 29 when several agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations, executed court-authorized search warrants on Powell and Singh's home and cars, authorities said.

They found less than one-half ounce of crack cocaine, numerous prescription pills, various types of paraphernalia related to drug distribution and about $3,754 in cash, authorities said.

Powell was charged with distribution of CDS, two counts of possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, conspiracy and refusal to submit to fingerprints. He was taken to the Cape May County Correctional Facility where he remains pending court proceedings.

Singh was charged with distribution of CDS, two counts of possession of CDS and possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia. She was processed and released on a summons pending court proceedings.
