National Award Given To Ocean City Ice Cream Parlor
A La Mode Ice Cream Parlor is the recipient of a North American Ice Cream Association "Award of Excellence."
OCEAN CITY, NJ — A longtime local ice cream parlor has earned national recognition for their delicious frozen treats.
A La Mode Ice Cream Parlor, a mainstay of Ocean City since 1977, announced that its vanilla ice cream had won a second-place "Award of Excellence" from the North American Ice Cream Association.
"We recently attended a National Ice Cream Convention in Las Vegas, and we submitted our Vanilla for judging- we won a second place award!" The owners shared on Facebook.

They were awarded a red ribbon and a certificate proclaiming A La Mode as national award winners.
The association grades ice cream on qualities including flavor, body and texture, color, melting quality and bacteria.

The store entered last year and earned third place, so they made a few tweaks since, they said.
"Excited to keep growing, learning, and bringing the best to our corner of 55th St!" A La Mode said.
