New Airport Terminal, Playground In Ocean City's 5-Year Capital Plan
Plans for 2025 include a new terminal building at the airport and recreation improvements at 34th Street.
OCEAN CITY, NJ — This year, Ocean City plans to construct a new terminal building at the airport, revamp an aging playground and more, as part of their $67.6 million five-year capital plan.
While the plan encompasses 2025 through 2029, Business Administrator George Savastano outlined only this year's plans at a recent City Council meeting, saying that the $14.38 million in projects would give a clear look at what officials want to accomplish in 2025.
"A capital plan is just that - a plan," Savastano said. "It's a living document."

The plan includes $3 million for the new Leon and Elizabeth Grisbaum Terminal Building at the airport, which joins a $3 million donation from Grisbaum himself.
Another $3.5 million will go towards renovating a recreation facility at 34th Street and West Avenue.

"We have a very ambitious plan to redo the entire block with tennis courts, pickleball, playground, new restroom facilities," Savastano said. The city hopes to combine this with a $2.5 million open space grant from the county.
Other projects on the plan include $200,000 for a scoreboard at Carey Field, $180,000 for a new pavilion at the dog park and $750,000 for upgrades at the 35th Street Little League field.
There's also funding for road paving and flood mitigation.
