NJ Victim In Jersey Shore Boat Crash Identified: State Police
The boater died Wednesday after he was found unresponsive in Cape May Harbor, state police said.
CAPE MAY, NJ - The boater who died after being found unresponsive in Cape May Harbor Wednesday morning has been identified.
Christopher W. Heitman, 45, of Cape May, was operating the 17-foot vessel Sea Hunt in Cape May Harbor at around 2:12 a.m. with one occupant when his boat struck a loose drain pipe in the channel, causing the operator and occupant to be ejected, a spokesperson for the New Jersey State Police told Patch.

While the occupant was able to make it back onto the vessel, Heitman was discovered unresponsive in the water by authorities and later pronounced dead, state police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
