OCEAN CITY, NJ — Ocean City Councilman Michael DeVlieger announced that he will step down from his position in August to focus on his family and career.

DeVlieger said the Aug. 12 council meeting will be the last he attends as council vice president during a meeting Thursday night.

“All our elected officials devote a lot of time, energy and passion to their positions with little in return other than the satisfaction of serving their communities. I hope you’ll all join me in paying tribute to Mike for all his hard work on behalf of Ocean City,” Gillian said.
