Ocean City Home Bank Supports South Jersey Field of Dreams
The Ocean City Home Charitable Foundation donates $4,000 to the nonprofit.

Like other kids their age, children with physical and mental disabilities deserve to participate in sports, to make friends, and to attend parties, dances and other social events. South Jersey Field of Dreams, which offers area children the chance to play baseball, regardless of ability, will now give team members opportunities to socialize at family-oriented functions. With the help of a $4,000 grant from the Ocean City Home Charitable Foundation, the Absecon-based nonprofit will plan several events for its players and families to attend.
“With this grant, we’ll be able to give our 240 players opportunities to develop friendships and bonds that might not be available to them otherwise,” said Barry Hackett, Chairman of the Board of South Jersey Field of Dreams. “We appreciate the chance to give our players ‘social moments,’ and to make more dreams come true at South Jersey Field of Dreams.”
“Every child should have the chance not only to play a sport, but also to develop the relationships and the feelings of camaraderie that come with team participation,” said Jean Jacobson, President of the Ocean City Home Charitable Foundation. “We are happy to support the dedicated volunteers of South Jersey Field of Dreams as they make both sports participation and social events available to all children, regardless of physical ability.”
