This Ocean City Bridge's Tolls Will Go Cashless Soon

The Cape May County Bridge Commission is transitioning to cashless all-electronic tolling beginning May 10, 2025.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Expect tolls on the Ocean City-Longport Bridge to go cashless on May 10, according to the Cape May County Bridge Commission.

Drivers who already use E-ZPass will see no changes. Tolls will be charged via E-ZPass or Toll By Plate, which allows drivers to keep driving through even without an E-ZPass transponder.

Here's what's in store, according to officials:

With an E-ZPass tag: Drivers with a valid E-ZPass tag in their vehicle have their tolls automatically deducted from their E-ZPass account and, as long as their account is in good standing, they do not receive Toll Bills. To avoid any problems, customers should make sure their license plate is on their account.

No E-ZPass tag: Drivers without a valid E-ZPass tag in their vehicle are mailed a bill for their tolls, usually within 30 days. A photo of the vehicle’s license plate is taken at the time of the transaction, and the plate number is used to obtain the vehicle’s registered owner information. If you do not have an E-ZPass transponder, you may apply for an account here.
