Pecks Beach Village Cleanup Postponed

Update: Due to current snowy weather conditions in Ocean City, the Pecks Beach Village Cleanup scheduled for Saturday Feb. 2 has been postponed. At this time a new date for this event has not been scheduled, however we will certainly keep the public notified of any future cleanup opportunities.

Thank you to the volunteers who so willingly offered to help in this effort. We appreciate your good intentions and hope to work with you in our continuing efforts to restore and improve Ocean City, NJ. OCNJ CARE, the nonprofit organization established to help Ocean City residents and businesses rebuild and recover after Superstorm Sandy, is looking for volunteers to help in an upcoming cleanup and recovery effort.

Volunteers are needed to aid in debris cleanup 10 a.m. to noon Saturday (Feb. 2) at the north-end federal housing development of Pecks Beach Village at Fourth Street and Haven Avenue.

The 60 units at Pecks Beach Village were severely damaged in the storm and are currently under repair so that families may move back in as soon as possible. Cleanup assistance would be greatly appreciated so that the road to recovery in Ocean City may be made swifter.

If you are interested in volunteering for this cleanup effort, please call the OCNJ CARE hotline at 1-855-622-2730. Volunteers should meet at the city housing authority building at 204 E. Fourth Street around 9:30 a.m. Volunteer coordinators are Caitlin Greene and Sarah Lee.
