Seagull Slaps Teen's Face On Wildwood Slingshot Ride

A Pennsylvania teenager had an especially close encounter with a seagull while riding the SpringShot at Morey's Pier in Wildwood.

WILDWOOD, NJ — Seagulls are always lurking in Jersey Shore towns, never afraid to get up close and personal as people stroll the boardwalk.

A Pennsylvania teenager had an especially close encounter with one while riding the SpringShot at Morey’s Pier in Wildwood.

Seconds after the ride launched into the air, a seagull flew into her neck. A viral video of the encounter shows the bird momentarily latching onto her.

As her friend screams from the thrill of the ride, she pulls the bird off with one hand and throws it back in the air.

The teenager, Kiley Holman, 13, of Weatherly, Pennsylvania, told 6ABC that she boarded the ride with her friend who was celebrating her 14th birthday.

"When I got shot up, then I saw it. It was going the opposite way and then it came back and hit me right in the face," Kiley said. "It felt really light and it only left like the tiniest scratch."
