The Wetlands Institute Welcomed Over 200 Guests for Donor Appreciation Open House
Supporters came together to celebrate shared impact
The Wetlands Institute welcomed more than 200 supporters and friends to its Donor Appreciation Open House, held at the Institute’s scenic campus. The event served as a heartfelt thank-you to the many individuals, businesses, partners, and organizations whose generosity fuels the Institute’s mission to promote appreciation, understanding & stewardship of wetlands and coastal ecosystems through their programs in research, conservation, and education.
Guests enjoyed an evening of connection, exploration, and inspiration as they mingled with staff, board members, and incredible interns. A highlight of the evening was remarks from The Wetlands Institute’s Executive Director, Dr. Lenore Tedesco, who shared numerous accomplishments and presented a bold and visionary pathway for the Institute’s future.
Guests saw marsh restoration work completed last winter in the marshes adjacent to the Institute and learned about upcoming projects that will continue to develop cutting edge and innovative approaches to build resilience for the Institute and coastal communities.

“Our progress is only possible because of the passionate support of our donor community,” Tedesco said. “This event was created to celebrate all we’ve achieved together, celebrate major milestones and to set our sights on the impactful work that lies ahead.”
As The Wetlands Institute looks to the future, it invites the community to continue the celebration at the Summer Celebration on July 26th at ICONA Avalon, the Institute’s signature fundraising event. Tickets are available and they are expected to sell quickly. Proceeds from the event help advance conservation programs, community education, and scientific research.
