Wildwood Firefighters Deliver Baby On Garden State Parkway

Firefighters helped a woman pregnant with twins deliver the newborn in an ambulance on the parkway, the department said.

NORTH WILDWOOD, NJ - Firefighters helped a woman pregnant with twins deliver the newborn in an ambulance on the Garden State Parkway this week, the department said.

While transporting a pregnant woman in labor to an area hospital, North Wildwood firefighters Capone and Zergani assisted with the delivery of a baby boy en route, the fire department said in a Thursday statement.

“Baby and mom were listed in stable condition while expecting the delivery of the second baby upon arriving [in] the ER, the department said, adding that a second boy was delivered around a half hour later in the hospital.

“Mom and both baby boys are all reported to be in good condition,” the department said in an update.
