Local Authors Visit, Radio Nashville Concert Thursday in Parsippany

Here's what's going on Thursday in Parsippany-Troy Hills.

Aspiring writers will have the unique opportunity to meet two local authors today for a meet and greet at the Mount Tabor and Lake Hiawatha Branch Libraries.

David Boyle will be available for discussion, book signings and purchases at the Mount Tabor Branch today at 7:30 p.m. The program is for ages 15 and up.

For youngsters, local author Denise Dowling Mortensen will read her new children's book “Bug Patrol” and do a fun bug craft.

Mortensen will be at the Lake Hiawatha Branch from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

A "Radio Nashville" concert will be held on Thursday, July 25, at 7:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park.

"This six piece band hosts three male lead singers, an incredible female lead singer, a beautiful & talented female fiddle player, a pounding rhythm section, and an amazing lead guitarist," the township says on its website. "Performing the top modern country hits from Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift to Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum."

If you are looking to get involved in the community, Parsippany Kiwanis meets every Thursay morning at 7:15 am at Empire Diner, 1315 Route 46, Parsippany.

“We hope you will be able to join us to learn more about Kiwanis and see how you fit into the picture,” they organization states on its website. “Newcomers and visiting clubs always welcome!”

Project Healthy Bones is a way for local seniors to get out and stay active with a low impact exercise program designed for men and women diagnosed with or are at the risk of osteoporosis.

They meet on on Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Main Library on Halsey Road.

You can also try out the free Walking Club For Seniors, which meets every Thursday at the PAL Building located at 33 Baldwin Rd. from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
