N.J. One Of The Hardest Working States In America, Study Shows

Website ranks all 50 states on hours worked, commute time, and other factors.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – Give yourself a pat on the back, New Jersey: You’re one of the hardest working states in the country.

A new study released by Zippia.com, a website devoted to data analysis regarding careers in America, ranked all 50 states in order of hardest working.

The Garden State came in third overall.

Zippia used criteria like Average Hours Worked; Average Commute Time; Workers Per Household; Labor Force Participation Rate; and Adults With a College Degree.

New Jersey’s third-place ranking came with an average of 38.5 hours worked per week, good for 20th overall; the third most time spent commuting; and the third highest ranking in the country with residents who hold a bachelor’s degree.

Maryland and Virginia came in first and second, respectively. New Mexico came in last.
