PARSIPPANY, NJ — It's been a long year for Hannah Cerullo, a Parsippany middle schooler who battled stage four cancer. The Morris County community rallied around her, donating blood and contributing to fundraisers. Now, she's cancer free and ready to relax.

Make-A-Wish of New Jersey is making that happen. Hannah and her family will get a much deserved vacation, thanks to Make-A-Wish and Jersey Mike's Subs. The family will be sent to Costa Rica later this spring, and will enjoy beaches, rainforest hikes, and seeing monkeys up close.

The surprise was released last week at a Jersey Mike's in East Hanover. The cause is close to store manager Chris Sutton, whose brother received a Wish when the two were children.

Jersey Mike's fund raises for Make-A-Wish throughout New Jersey every March. Last year, $377,000 was raised, funding 35 wishes to local children with critical illnesses.

"When we began our special friendship with Jersey Mike’s Subs three years ago, it was not lost on us that wherever there is a Jersey Mike’s, within close proximity, we know there is a wish family," shared Tom Weatherall Make-A-Wish New Jersey president and CEO. "Last year was a record year of wish granting for us, and Jersey Mike’s played a key role in making that happen. We are more than proud to partner with them, and humbled to be selected as the beneficiary of these precious and crucial funds. With their support, more kids like Hannah throughout New Jersey will experience the life-changing power of a wish in the months ahead."
