Parsippany Retro Fitness Closes For Good

PARSIPPANY, NJ — The Parsippany Retro Fitness has closed permanently, effective May 5, the owners announced on Facebook.

The gym was located at 1440 US 46. All memberships were automatically transferred to the Whippany location (60 S. Jefferson Road). That location can be reached by email at whippanynj@retrofitness.net or by phone by calling (862) 701-2560.

Many members expressed anger with the way the closing was announced on the Facebook post, with one writing, "What a horrible way to run a business. Keeping everyone in the dark up until sending out a email on a Sunday saying you were shutting down like a thief in the night. No warning."

"While we can understand the disappointment members may have felt, this is not an indication or reflection of the Retro Fitness brand. This was an independently owned and operated franchise and their closing will not impact the other locations across the region," a spokesperson for Retro Fitness corporate said. They encouraged Parsippany members to continue their memberships at the Whippany location.
