Serious Crash Victim Saved By Quick Acting, Nearby Parsippany Firefighters: Cops
Driver sustained head injury on South Beverwyck Road Thursday, police said.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – A serious car crash had a silver lining Thursday, when it occurred just next door to the Rockaway Neck Fire Department Thursday afternoon, resulting in the quick actions of nearby firefighters.
A driver was heading northbound on South Beverwyck Road when he crossed the double yellow line, entering the southbound traffic lane, striking a curb, then hitting a tree, police said.
Fire personnel heard the crash and immediately responded to the area of 200 South Beverwyck Road, police said, and rendered aid to the 65-year-old victim from Whippany.

The man was entrapped in his vehicle and was extricated by fire personnel while police, EMS, MICU, and rescue and recovery responded to the scene to assist.
The driver was transported to Morristown Medical Center by Par Troy EMS and Saint Clare’s Hospital ALS due to head injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
