5 Things to Know Friday in Point Boro, Point Beach

Legos at the library, fishing, a high school reunion and a bone marrow drive are all in the works

Lego building, fishing, a high school reunion and a bone marrow drive to save a local teen's life are all coming up.

AT 10:30 a.m. Friday (today), children ages 2 to 5 are welcome to have fun building with the Point Borough library's collection of LEGO DUPLO blocs. "It will be a great time to play and explore together," says the Event listing. Please register by calling 732-295-1555. The library is on Beaver Dam Road.

There will be a fishing tournament starting 7 a.m. Saturday at Alex's Inlet Bait and Tackle, 9 Inlet Dr., Point Beach. The biggest fish wins it all. Length wins it. NOT weight. You can only fish from the wall and the rocks. NO beach and NO boats. No Gaffing. Only net or pull over wall and rocks.

The Point Boro Class of 1983 is having its 30th class reunion at Jenkinson's on Saturday night. Tickets are $75 each. Regina Foley, who has been planning the event, said on Wednesday there is still availability. Those interested can email her at drfj6300@comcast.net

A bone marrow drive will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Aug. 4 at Sacred Heart Church, 751 Main Ave., Bay Head, to help Colin Wyckoff, 19, a Point Borough High School graduate who has leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. For more information, please see the Facebook event page.
