Snow Leads To Delayed School Opening For Point Pleasant Beach

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — Students and staff in the Point Pleasant Beach School District will get to sleep a little later on Monday as the district has declared a two-hour delayed opening due to Sunday's snowfall.

Specific snow totals were not reported for Point Pleasant Beach but much of Ocean County received at least 7 inches of snow from the storm that moved through New Jersey late Saturday into Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm began with rain and has left icy conditions in its wake, and morning temperatures are expected to be in the teens, according to the weather service.

The district's schools will open as follows:

Point Pleasant Beach High School, 10 a.m.

Antrim Elementary:

  • Kindergarten through 8th grade, 10:05 a.m.
  • PreK morning session canceled
  • PreK afternoon session, noon
