Charlotte Louise Wagner Of Point Pleasant Dies At 83

Services will be held on Friday and Saturday.

Charlotte Louise Wagner, 83, of Point Pleasant, was called to watch over us on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at her home.

She lived in Brielle before moving to Point Pleasant Beach. She attended Point Pleasant High School. It was a small graduating class and Charlotte remained lifelong friends with some of her classmates. Charlotte was one of the first car hops at the Surf and Sand in Manasquan.

She worked as a telephone operator at the time of the switchboards. Charlotte was a professional opera singer who sang in New York clubs, local hotels and many weddings. She had a musical gift for piano playing with the ability to sit down and play music by ear.

Charlotte married her sweetheart, Edwin (Red) and raised their family in Brielle, enjoying the Manasquan River Golf Club and Manasquan River Yacht Club. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. The family would like to send our sincere appreciation to Meridian Hospice for their loving care and emotional support through our journey with Alzheimer's.

Mrs. Wagner was pre-deceased by her husband Edwin in 1985 and is survived by her son, E.J. and his wife Nancy; daughter, Michele Miller and her former husband Robert; grandchildren, Raquel and Chanel Miller, Nick Wagner, Jennifer Droz and her loving caregiver, Manana. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.,at the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street, Manasquan, NJ. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Atlantic View Cemetery in Manasquan.
