Genevieve Campanile Of Point Pleasant Dies At 86

Services will be held on Sunday and Monday.

Genevieve (Mayo) Campanile of Point Pleasant passed away on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, at Claremont Care Center in Point Pleasant. She was 86.

Born and raised in Jersey City, she moved to Point Pleasant over 20 years ago. Genevieve was a manager at the Port Jersey Transportation Business before her retirement. She was a parishioner of St. Martha's RC Church, Point Pleasant.

Genevieve loved the opera. She was a great cook and enjoyed knitting in her spare time.

She was predeceased by her husband Francis in 2006, her parents Carl and Antoinette (Galano) Mayo, and her brother Carl Mayo. She is survived by her daughter Judith Marie and her loving and devoted son-in-law Vincent Daniel Rivera of Point Pleasant; her sister Marie Galdieri of Verona; three grandchildren. Gena Laielli, and Daniel and Vincent Rivera; and four great-grandchildren, Emma and Owen Laielli and Julian and Lilyana Rivera. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2016, and on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Martha's RC Church, Point Pleasant, followed by interment at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
