POINT PLEASANT BEACH – Point Pleasant Beach has provided the latest updates on its plans to reopen schools in September.

Point Pleasant Beach is planning on reopening its school buildings, but the district will follow a "hybrid" model – even though students could be in classrooms four days a week.

Here is what the district is providing to parents, guardians and students:
G. Harold Antrim Elementary School

- The in-person educational program for students attending G. Harold Antrim Elementary School will take place on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
- Instruction on Wednesdays will be synchronous distance learning that follows a shortened (i.e. “half-day”) instructional schedule.
- The start of the school day will be 8 a.m. Students can begin arriving at 7:55 a.m. to be screened prior to entry.
- The end of the day will be staggered. Students in PreK will be dismissed at 10:30 a.m. (morning session) and 2:30 (afternoon session). K-4 will be dismissed at 2:30 p.m., and students in grades 5-8 will be dismissed at 2:45 p.m.
Point Pleasant Beach High School
- The in-person instructional program at Point Pleasant Beach High School will consist of four instructional blocks on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with a unit lunch each day.
- Students will be scheduled for seven or eight instructional blocks over two days.
- Instruction on Wednesdays will be synchronous distance learning that follows a shortened (i.e. “half-day”) instructional schedule.
- The start of the school day will be 8 a.m. Students can begin arriving at 7:45 a.m. to be screened prior to entry.
- The end of the day will be 2:29 p.m.
- Parents who select distance learning for their child will be accommodated through synchronous instruction with the in-person instruction
