Juvenile Pedestrian Fatally Struck By NJ Transit Train: Officials
A juvenile pedestrian was hit and killed by a Bay Head-bound NJ Transit train Sunday afternoon, officials said.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ - A juvenile pedestrian was fatally struck by a NJ Transit train Sunday afternoon, officials said.
At around 4:28 p.m., NJ TRANSIT train No. 4749 on the North Jersey Coast Line, which departed Long Branch at 3:51 p.m., struck and fatally injured a juvenile pedestrian at the Forman Avenue crossing in Point Pleasant Beach, an NJ Transit spokesperson told Patch.
The train was scheduled to arrive in Bay Head at 4:36 p.m., the spokesperson said. There were no reported injuries to the nine passengers and crew members on board the train at the time.

Train crossings south of Arnold Avenue to Route 35 were closed for about three hours while authorities investigated at the Forman Avenue crossing, Point Pleasant Beach police said. They reopened about 7:30 p.m. after the on-site investigation was finished and the train was moved.
Point Pleasant Beach police, NJ Transit Police and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office are investigating. Point Pleasant Beach police said the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office was leading the investigation.
