Point Pleasant Beach Police Chief 'Outraged' By Minneapolis Cop
Point Pleasant Beach's police chief said his department is "outraged" by the actions of the police officer from Minneapolis.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH – Point Pleasant Beach's police chief said his department is "outraged" by the actions of the police officer from Minneapolis and condemned his actions.
"We are better than this, and I am proud that my officers have always treated people with integrity and respect," Chief Joseph Michigan said.
Michigan said his thoughts and prayers go out to the family of George Floyd and "all the dedicated men and women who put their uniform on and now have to be subjected to the actions of a man who should never have been given the opportunity to wear a badge."

"This sickens me and justice will be delivered in due time," Michigan said. "I pray that the civil unrest we are experiencing comes to an end and we can heal together as a nation."
Michigan said he was also aware of a notice of a Black Lives Matter protest scheduled for this past Monday at 3 p.m. The event was canceled by the organizer encouraging everyone to attend another rally in Asbury Park, which was held on Monday night.
