POINT PLEASANT BORO – A local girl has a good remedy for the hot weather, and for helping others in need.

Alexis Tobias said she and her husband built a lemonade stand for their 6-year-old daughter, Reece, raise money to buy toys for the children who are residents of CHOP, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Tobias said they had their first sale on Sunday at a local business: Nature's Reward Farmers Market on Bridge Avenue in Point Pleasant Boro. In just under three hours, they raised $525 dollars.

Tobias noted that Reece wears a mask, gloves and uses all environmentally safe products such as paper cups and straws. "We also have sanitizer and gloves available for her customers," she said.

Tobias said they will be at another local spot, Divi Tree Coffee, this upcoming weekend.

Afterward, they will purchase the toys and hand-deliver to CHOP – safely outside, of course – along with their directors.

"We have no dollar amount goal in mind and honestly just figured we would raise a few hundred bucks," Tobias said.

"We are now being sought after for our delicious homemade lemonade and for those to make a contribution."
