Point Pleasant Man Dies In Early Morning Fire

Blaze broke out shortly before 2 a.m.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ - A borough man who lived alone died in an early morning fire that ripped through a Ridgefield Drive home very early Wednesday morning, a spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.

The fire began sometime before 2 a.m. at the single-family house in the 1000 block of Ridgefield Drive. Multiple fire companies fought the fully engulfed blaze under extremely cold conditions, said spokesman Al Della Fave.

Firefighters later found the body of a man in his late sixties inside the home. His name is not being released pending notification of kin, Della Fave said.
